Cops are tied to their badge number. It's as much a part of them as their name or social security number. Historically "760" is the badge number of the Saline County Sheriff. The badge number is so tied to Wally that his memos don't bear his name but his three digit identifier. "This door to be keep locked by order of 760" says one. A note taped to a trash can cautions against throwing official papers away ends with the short, clipped scrawl: "760."
