At home from school due to illness, Wendy’s son from her first marriage, Lane, sits in his bed with a bowl of chicken soup that Troy brought for him. Lane, who was the man of the family before Troy and Wendy married last month, is going through a defiant phase often challenging his mother and Troy. Troy has stepped into the role of disciplinarian, and the two sometimes butt heads.
