Charles Lee Anderson lies paralyzed in his mother Amy Anderson’s arms while hospice nurse Cynthia Cook checks his heart-rate. Both Amy and her husband Bryce Anderson have decided that it is far more humane to allow their son to die naturally of his Tay-Sachs disease rather than be kept alive in a vegetative state for up to five years.
