One of the benefits of home schooling, according to Sherry Dodson, is that it allows her to support her children’s individual interests as well as her own agenda –preparedness.

“Preparedness for whatever comes along. So that we’ll be able to at least survive the next financial collapse.”

Sherry Dodson, has home-schooled all of her twelve children. “I home-school because that’s what the Bible commands me to do in Deuteronomy 6.00. I follow the Robinson curriculum.” She believes that it’s the right thing to do, and she continues to home-school even though she’s now alone with the seven younger children in challenging circumstances.

When asked how she copes she says that her faith sustains her. “The Lord sustains me. I got no job, no nothing, but he always provides. Not as much as I’d like or as often but he does provide…”

“My number one goal in home-schooling is that my children come to know the Lord. My number two goal is that they learn to think for themselves.”
