Phommachanh Mahathath is a Laotian immigrant, but most importantly, a father of four daughters in Perryville. Living in a town that is 94 percent white, Phom wants his children to know they belong. Ten years ago, he opened one of the most popular bars in town. Several times a week he visits the graveyard where his family members are buried. “We are buried here, we are in the soil,” Phom passionately declares.
