“When people say I’m such a strong person, I say, ‘It’s not my strength, it’s God’s strength,’” said Lila Welch. She leans on her relationship with her husband Tom, her appreciation for beauty, and a deep faith in God, to face her diagnosis with pseudomyxoma peritonei. After chemotherapy treatments, she went into remission in January 2013. Tom and Lila bought an RV, hoping to travel. When her cancer returned in April 2014, they settled into that RV on a friend’s property, and they continue to fight her disease. They hope to travel again soon.
