Rachael Karel and Antione Shockley moved to Perryville to distance themselves from their troubled pasts.

The newly engaged couple met two years ago in St. Louis, Missouri, when they were each in different halfway houses. They fell in love. In July, they became engaged.

Recent trouble threatens to tear them apart, but Karel hopes they can hold on to their love. “I ain’t got nobody but you,” she says, often, to Shockley.
