Dana Webster, 44, grew up in Cuba, MO but left after high school for love and a world class cosmetology education. Seven years ago, she returned to Cuba to help care for her family and started working part-time in a small, one-chair barbershop on the outskirts of town. After the shop’s owner became ill earlier this year, she took over and now serves the predominantly-elderly clientele with care and precision. Her clients’ average age is close to 80.
“I like the fact that they've been around so long. They've gained a lot of knowledge that we haven't.”
Her current clients have no idea about her education, but it doesn't matter. According to Dana, “they're just glad they get a good haircut.”
