Aby Bruce, 20, is draped in pink, conquering cerebral palsy and is usually sporting a YMCA tee. Whether nurturing her siblings with disabilities or controlling a room roaring with children, Aby’s calling has led her to a career in teaching. “I will continue studying special education at the University of Missouri this spring,” she said. “I need to help kids like my brother and sister and make a difference in the world.” Soaking up her final moments at home, Aby embraces the future. “I’m ready for my next step,” she said. “I’m ready to be on my own and start my life.”
