Story Summary

Clark Greis’ life changed this summer. On July 24, 2019, the volunteer firefighter responded to a multi-structure fire in downtown Boonville. Within minutes of arriving at the scene, an explosion shot out a 19-foot wooden beam that struck and trapped the 51-year-old under rubble and smoke.

Recovering from his life-threatening injuries have brought new challenges into Clark’s life. He plays an integral role in the family business, Greis Trucking and Excavating, but is now wheelchair-bound and works from home. Moving toward recovery with the help of his family, Clark hopes to walk again within the next year.
