After suffering from alcoholism, abuse and homelessness for many years, 48-year-old Lori Lugwig, has been sober since 2017 and is now the house manager and a certified recovery mentor at DAWNS House, the same female-only sobriety house that she says saved her life. She now supports and gives hope to women who are battling their own addictions and helps them to reintegrate into society using the tools she’s gained through her own journey of recovery. She says if she can help just one woman from doing what she did to her life and her family, she’ll feel that she’s accomplished her mission.
