The family doesn't have a phone in the house, but John borrows his brother's cell phone to make a call. John's older brothers are allowed to do as they please in following Old Order Amish law, but John must follow his father's house guidelines until he is 17. John keeps his electronics hidden from his father, including a 30g Ipod his English friend bought for him out of town at WalMart. His friend uploads the music for him with Eminem and DMX being two of his favorite artists.
